    The aroma of sizzling meat and sautéed vegetables filled the air as student chefs raced around State College Area High School's culinary arts kitchen. But this was no ordinary cooking class. It was a high-stakes culinary showdown – a local rendition of the hit TV show “Chopped.”

    State High student senate members are offering testing survival kits to raise money for their initiatives. In addition to candy, each kit contains a water bottle, stickers, pencils, a fidget toy, and a personalized card to motivate the students during testing.

    Open Doors for Academic Support

    Throughout the school day, the State High Humanities Center and STEM Center operate out of designated classrooms, each staffed by two teachers for a new approach to providing support this year. Students can drop in at their convenience, to receive individualized attention and instruction.
