High School South cafeteria
Call to order by Board President Ms. Penni Fishbaine. Co-chairs Scott Thomas and Kelley Wilkins asked for feedback from the January 23 public forum. The concept of a online virtual building tour and feedback about the survey questions were brought forward.
New members of the committee were given the opportunity to introduce themselves.
Dr O'Donnell shared thinking about the guiding principles, overall process and the importance of community engagement. He covered the impact of guiding principles on the planning process, with community feedback being necessary to align the design parameters to community thinking. The February public forum will include more information about options and preliminary cost estimates.
Mike Paston of The 501 Group gave an overview of the referendum process and reminded CEAT members that their primary tasks are to advocate for the planning process and listen to the questions community members are asking. The process goal is to have a community-based decision. His portion of the meeting concluded with questions from the team members.
Jim Leous shared spreadsheets of the community groups and member connections that were generated at the previous team meeting. Additional group names should be given to Scott Thomas for inclusion. Resource materials will be created for use on outreach sessions that team members will be having in a March/April timeframe for community groups that would be interested in hosting.
Scott Thomas fielded specific questions and suggestions about outreach. Dr. O 'Donnell concluded the meeting with a review of the process timeline. Board work sessions on the high school project are scheduled for Feb. 18, Mar. 18, April 15 and May 13 at 7 p.m. in the board room.
The meeting was concluded at 8:15 p.m.
The next CEAT meeting will be March 13 at 6:30 p.m. at the High School South cafeteria. Future CEAT meetings are scheduled for April 17 and May 15 at 6:30 p.m.
Respectfully submitted
