EASTERLY STUDENTS ARE READERS!

 

January is a month to celebrate reading at Easterly Parkway. All students are encouraged to take part in the Read-A-Thon and read as many books as possible in a week. The Read-A-Thon is not a fundraiser—it's just a fun way to enjoy reading and win prizes!

 

 

Program Details:

★    Read as many books as possible between January 21 and January 27, 2020. 

★    Record the pages on the book log and have a parent or guardian sign it.

★    Turn in book logs to your teacher by Wednesday, January 29. 

 

 

Prizes:

★    Every student who reads 100 pages x their grade will receive a $5 gift certificate to spend at the Spring Book Fair!

○   Kindergarten = 50 pages

○   1st grade = 100 pages

○   2nd grade = 200 pages

○   3rd grade = 300 pages

○   4th grade = 400 pages

○   5th grade = 500 pages

 

★    The top reader in each grade will receive a book from the spring book fair. 

 

★    The class that reads the most pages will win a book for their classroom library.

 

★    The class with the greatest participation will win an ice cream party!

 

 

Rules:

Read books at your reading level.
For a student who cannot read alone, you may count books read aloud to the student.
You can read your own books, library books, or books you borrow from friends.
You may record books read at school, home, or anywhere!
